Gina K Inspiration Hop Day 3: You Go, Girl and Pleasant Plurals

rope

Welcome to our last day of inspiration hops for the new Gina K release!  My first card uses the sassy gal from Tami’s set You Go Girl!  There are so many different sayings to appeal to your girlfriends so you can send them cards for many occasions!  I paper-pieced her outfit with papers from Cosmo Cricket Upcycle pad.  The chocolate brown layer is embossed with Swiss Dots.  I added some hemp twine to mimic the rope in the sentiment!

My next card uses the new Pleasant Plurals, which you can get for Free with the purchase of 3 stamp sets!!  I used the house image from the Wishing You Joy StampTV kit.  I used the snowflake embossing folder on the top of the card for ‘snow’ and for the ground cover, I randomly used Stardust Stickles and the sentiment is from the Pleasant Plurals set.  The card base is Lipstick Red and the layer behind the white layer is All Spruced Up pure luxury cardstock

Here is a close up of the sparkle on the card.  I even put the stickles on the snowflakes too.

Be sure to check out all the inspiration the design team has created to share with you.  Make sure you leave a comment on each blog along the way because next on Wednesday, we will be choosing two winners from all the comments who will each win a fabulous Gina K. Designs grab bag filled with a least a dozen individual precut images!

Thanks for stopping by!  I read and appreciate each and every comment!

Gina K Inspiration Hop Day 2: Wishing You Joy StampTV kit

tags
I’m so happy you are joining us for today’s inspiration hop showcasing the new stamps by Gina K!! Everything is available in the store in the All New Category!  I am sharing a project I made to host this week’s Mix It Up Monday Challenge (click to go to post) and its to make a 3D project – a tag book & tags!  You can click any of the pictures to make them bigger.
tags2
I love making some 3D projects to have on hand in case there is someone I want to give a little gift before the holidays that they can enjoy for the holidays and alleviate a little stress and this can be one of those things! There are so many fun images and sentiments in this Wishing You Joy StampTV kit, so they are perfect for making fun tags!   The value of this set is amazing for only $49.95 you get cardstock, ribbon, brads and a big stamp set so you can make a lot of holiday projects – get a start on them now before it gets too busy!
tagbook
Here is a picture of the tag book on the outside.  It is simple to make.  Just grab 2 standard size envelopes and cut 2 pieced of cardstock the same size or slightly larger.  Grab some ribbon, cord or whatever you want to tie it closed, some glue and whatever you want to decorate the front and inside of your tag book.  The following pictures will show you how to assemble it if you have never made one before.  I used pattern paper from the stamptv kit but used Lipstick Red, Lovely Lavender and Green Apple pure luxury cardstock for my tags and the outside of the tag book.

tagbook4The first thing you want to do is flip back the right side envelope and flap and glue it down. Then open the left side envelope flap and that will be glued to the other envelope.

tag book3
Next, take some ribbon, cord or whatever you’d like to keep your tag book closed and glue it down underneath the left side envelope flap to the back piece of cardstock.

tag bookLastly, this shows how the envelopes are adhered to each other with a slightly different view. You are basically ensuring that both envelope insides are facing each other so you can slip your tags inside.

tags inside
Here is how the tags look inside.  Before you adhere or decorate the front of your tag book, you need to bring the left side of your ribbon or cord over to the right so you can tie it with the first one you laid down.  See first photo for more detail.  I put the cord under the nestability Labels 16 die I stamped.  I hope you will play along in the challenge so you can get your name in the drawing for a free stamp set valued up to $24.95!  As always, you do not have to have Gina K stamps to play along, but if you do you should use them because that gets your name in the drawing an additional time, thereby increasing your chances to win!

As you hop through the designer’s blogs, make sure you leave comments on each one for a chance to win a fabulous Gina K Designs grab bag filled with at least a dozen individual precut images.  Gina K will announce the winners on her blog.

Gina K Inspiration Hop Day 1: Basket Additions & Strength and Hope

christmas stocking

Welcome to our first day of inspiration hops for October with Gina K!  I hope you were able to make it to the party last night, which was a lot of as usual!  If you follow Gina K, you will know all the stamps went live for sale on the website last night, so they are available for purchase now!  No waiting until the end of the inspiration hops for he reveals.  First up is my project using Melanie’s Basket Additions.  These additions are begging to fill up her baskets from Holiday Basket and Spring Basket sets also coordinates with Basket Buddies!  But of course, when I saw this cute addition of Christmas images with the tassels on the ends, I ‘saw’ a Christmas stocking topper!  So, I took a vertically folded Lipstick Red cardstock, placing the topper over the fold and traced a light pencil line down in the shape of a stocking.  I was trying to make this fit in a standard A2 envelope, but to make it proportionate with the topper, it had to be just a tad larger but that’s o.k. because I have some larger envelopes anyway.  To bring texture to the stocking, I ran it through my favorite Victoria cuttlebug embossing folder.  I adhered the folded stocking with my ‘addition’ peeking over the top.  The white card base is just a single A2 size 4.25 x 5.5 inches.

Next up is my project for Strength and Hope, a beautiful set by Theresa Momber which honors and celebrates those affected by Cancer.  So, Theresa will be donating all of her proceeds for the first month of sales, to Cancer research!  I made a simple card, stamping directly on this beautiful printed paper from Victoria’s Garden.  I crocheted the dishcloths that the card is photographed on top of, so they, along with the card are ready to be gifted!!   My card base is Innocent Pink and the layer behind the printed paper is Chocolate pure luxury cardstock.

As you hop through the designer’s blogs, make sure you leave comments on each one for a chance to win a free stamp set of your choice valued up to $24.95!  We will randomly choose two winners so the more comments you leave, the more chances you have to win.  Gina K will announce the winners on her blog.

Thanks for joining us today for the hop!  Be sure to come back on Monday and Tuesday for Day 2 & 3 Inspiration Hops!

Have a great weekend!

Gina K designer hop-Card Drive for Kids

4kidssecond

I’m so glad you’ve joined us for a Card Drive for Kids with Spina Bifida blog hop! Members of Gina K.'s Design Team have come together to host a hop to  share with you cards we created for some very special kids! You can find more details on this special cause over at StampTV.

If you came from Emily’s blog, you're at the right place. If not make sure to head over to StampTV where you will find a list of all those participating in today's hop and more information on the card drive.  I’m so glad that Giovana organized this card drive to flood these kid’s mailboxes with a little ray of sunshine in the form of some cards!

spinabifida3

My first card is for Logan (click his name to meet him on Giovana’s blog).  I wanted to use this adorable duck & snail image with the word SMILE from the GKD set Spring Has Sprung because I hope this card does put a smile on Logan’s face.  I used the same supplies on all 4 cards to keep it simple and easy for me to get them done in an efficient manner.  Kraft pure luxury cardstock used here.  Designer paper used on 3 cards is Basic Grey Lauderdale.  Stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black and I colored it with prismacolor pencils.

spinabifida4

This card is for Madison (click her name to meet her on Giovana’s blog).  Madison is so sweet and actually reminds me of our little cousin Madison with red hair as well!  Just looking at her makes me think she will squeal with delight as she sees this cute bug (Cute as a Bug set) inching its way out of the envelope!  I used Turquoise Sea, Red Hot, Sweet Mango, Black Onyx and Wild Dandelion pure luxury cardstock.  Stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black and I colored it with prismacolor pencils.

spinabifida2

This card is for Rebekah (click her name to meet her on Giovana’s blog).  I used Little Tees for this set since she is a little older than the other kids and she has such a cute smile, I figured she would look at this t-shirt and wish she had one like it.  Used white and black onyx pure luxury cardstock.

spinabifida1

My last card is for Tanner (click his name to meet him on Giovana’s blog).  I thought using Wee Tees (onesie cut off at the bottom) would be a fun card to make him with the yellow tractor on it.  I also used the cuttlebug embossing folder Traffic Jam on the Wild Dandelion layer.  White and Grass Green pure luxury cardstock also used.

I hope that you will make some time to send some cards to brighten these kid’s days and have your chance at winning over $500 in awesome prizes!

Now be sure to hop on over to Cat’s blog to see what  she's sharing with you today!

Road Trip Day 1-2 & Get Better card for Gabby

cadillac ranch1
We came back from our weeklong road trip to NM, CO, WY, KS, NE, OK!!  I plan to share pics a little at a time as I have time to upload & share with you.  We had a great time visiting friends, getting geocaches, relaxing, enjoying God’s beautiful landscape and spending time together.  When we got back yesterday, we took a 2-hr long nap!
cadillac ranch2These picture were taken Oct 8 at the Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo, TX. There was a Geocache here. We had to figure out which tires did not move on the buried Cadillacs and as you can see, it was muddy from all the rain we got! Can’t tell you which vehicles tires did not move or we would give it away! Everyone is welcome to spray paint the vehicles so we borrowed some from some people painting and wrote our geocaching initials and the date on this Cadillac. It was fun!
NM
On the morning of Sunday Oct 9 we left early to get to New Mexico.  It’s always fun to get welcome signs on a road trip, unfortunately not all of them are readily available to get pictures of.  The weather was nice.
We stopped in Santa Fe to visit a quilt shop and grab a late lunch NM mtnsand made it our friend’s house in Vadito (South of Taos) at 6:30 p.m. – out on the road almost 12 hours!  Here are some views of the beautiful mountains!

NM mtns 2It was gorgeous seeing the snow capped mountains!  I was happy we were able to get some great, clear photos even driving up to 75 mph!

the bells
Here is a picture of our friends Carolien and Chris who moved to NM 5 years ago, and thanks to facebook we’ve been keeping in touch.  But, there is nothing like reuniting with good friends and it be like no time had passed at all!  We met them over 10 years ago when we were in a motorcycle group together.  Carolien is from Holland  rides her own bike!  They just celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary!
ben&jerry
They have 1 dog named Jester (can’t believe I didn’t get a picture of him!) and 2 Alpacas that we were able to feed when we got there.  Their names are Ben & Jerry but I can’t remember which one John is feeding.  They are cute.

indian dinner
Dinner was delicious! Carolien is a vegetarian and loves Indian food like us so when she asked us what we wanted to eat for dinner, it was a no brainer! She made all the food from this Indian Slow Cooker cookbook which we plan to get! Everything was yummy! Just wish I had been more hungry but due to our late lunch, I wasn’t.
leaving NM snow
Since it had snowed a few days earlier, we did get to enjoy seeing some snow on the ground.  Our friend Chris actually works at a ski resort, Sipapu, as the assistant general manager so he gets to enjoy the snow all the time!  His job sounds so interesting but also physically demanding and the hours are LONG during the ski season.  What is so cool is that most days their dog goes to work with one of them!  He gets lots of attention at the resort from the patrons.
leaving NM
I’ll leave you with one more gorgeous photo of our view driving through the rest of New Mexico.  I think this one should be framed!

gabby get better
Now I have a card to share I made today!  This is for my sweet niece Gabby who fractured her clavicle on Tuesday evening, bless her heart.  She fell off a bench sideways on her shoulder.  It just breaks my heart to hear her in pain.  She didn’t want her mommy to tell anyone what happened though because she didn’t want anyone to worry about her!  She sounds just like my sister!!  She will still get to perform in her dance recital (the teacher modified movements for her) that it in a few weeks.  The Dr. said it may take up to 8 weeks for the fracture to heal, but we are praying for a quicker recovery!  I used Under the Weather by Gina K Designs.  The designer paper is My Mind’s Eye, Tickled Pink.
Thanks for stopping by; stay tuned for more vacation pics!  For the record, I am not ready to go back to work tomorrow.  Pin It

Happy World Cardmaking Day! Gina K Special for you!

joy

So sorry I haven’t been around for a couple of weeks!  Work has been super busy and I’ve worked overtime nearly every day for the past 3+ weeks!  I am ready to get back to working just 40 hours which is what I signed up for – vacation is on the horizon and boy do we need it!  Then we didn’t have internet at home for a week, it was rough but we survived- ha!

Did you know that today is World Cardmaking Day?  There are many ways to celebrate, one being stamp something!  I am not sure what my plans are for the day other than spending time with my hubby John.  He was out geocaching with friends Friday night and will again Sunday so this is our only day for the weekend to be together.  Maybe I can convince him to stamp a card with me?!  The above card uses Branching Out (vines) & Joy (from A Charmed Life).  I used Red Hot, white and All Spruced Up pure luxury cardstock and several Spellbinders Dies (Labels 10 and Grommet Tags).

I wanted to let you know about the World Card Making Day Special for Gina K Designs – you can get a free stamp set with a $35 or more purchase!  See the flyer below, offer ends Monday, Oct 3.

Hope you have a great weekend!
