Bunny in her Sunday Best

When I was making my Bunny Xing card yesterday I looked at the basket full of flowers and almost put it upside down on her head, but I knew I wanted to keep that card simple because of the scenery. So of course I had to make a card with the idea for a bunny hat using Just so Hoppy. How cute is the flower corsage on her left wrist? I had to put something in her right hand but did not want it to compete with her Easter Bonnet so I grabbed the sign from Just so Hippy put a sentiment in it & viola! Now it's complete. This is my entry for Carolyn's color challenge (Lovely Lilac & Certainly Celery) to win a new set from the next release. Don't forget there's a Gina K release party tomorrow evening (7:00 - 9:00 CST) I am really excited about it! My friend Melanie has 2 sets coming out this time! woohoo!!

Divine Design - Faith, Hope, Love

I am actually participating in this challenge on the day it's posted - yea! Here I used my new Papertrey Ink set Everyday Blessings. I was so happy to see it included very nice Scripture, which I am desirous of and lack for my projects. This frame is highlighting the other patterned paper {Basic Grey Infused} I used from last month's Scripture (and realized I can have at least 4 different patterns combining with the 2 mats I have). When I get bored I can make more.

I chose this Scripture as a reminder of what Easter is all about. Scripture says "'By Faith...
in Hebrews 11 (click on the passage to read it) is where you will find great faith; in adversity, hopelessness, tragedy, trials by those who believed in something greater than them. Faith is the substance of things hoped for; I hope for everlasting life, that there is something more after I pass on (eternal life in Heaven), I don't see Jesus yet I believe He died for my sins. Jesus' sacrifice was the ultimate expression of love. At Easter I celebrate His Life, the fact He died & rose again, and when He was on the cross, I was on His mind.

I have a small reminder of the Faith, Hope, Love other than this frame; when I was in my late twenties I got my first tattoo - those words on my left ankle remind me that the greatest of all is LOVE. I am reminded of Jesus' love every minute of every day because He is why I live.

Bunny Xing

I had an idea for a week now (after finding these pink pom poms when I was cleaning my stamp area) to do a bunny from behind using Just so Hoppy. I loved Melanie's idea of the chick from behind here - so why not the Bunny??

I have really been having fun making little nature scenes, can you tell? Well, I figured since the Bunny will be delivering a basket of flowers why not make a road with him crossing it? I got some instruction from Sophia (Moonlight Inker) to make my grass more realistic. She is such a great stamper & artist! I get so much inspiration from her blog and she is super sweet, we have emailed a few times about miscellaneous stuff. I have to give credit to Michelle Zindorf too, she makes the most amazing backgrounds & posts tutorials for her creations all the time. I used one of her tips by tearing copy paper to make my grass & road lines. I used my Lovely as a Tree SU! set for the trees, Just so Hippy for the flowers on the grass and added cherry blossoms to the tree as an afterthought & I'm glad I did, I think it makes a world of difference! I know because I photographed it before I did it & I think the feel of Spring really pops off the page now.

Peep Show

Who doesn't love the sugary gooey goodness called Peeps?? Well, have you even seen they have more colors of the rainbow AND different shapes like bunnies now? I wanted to showcase my Chicky from Just so Hoppy so I bought the traditional ones. They are two boxes so I wanted to put them in special packaging. How about a gum/candy slider? Since it is two boxes, the lovely lilac only went to far so I needed to add cardstock to the middle. Good enough, but it needed to be decorated. I used my big polka dots & daisies jumbo wheel (retired SU! but I'm not totally sure that is the name or not) which was the first time I used it. Well, look how well it goes with the chicks and the small flower they are holding from Just so Hippy (I pulled it from my for sale pile which I haven't posted yet because I keep finding all these sets I still want to keep).

Here it is open - cute, huh? Wonder how I got the jagged edge of the Yoyo yellow cardstock to look like teeth? I sure don't have any decorative edge scissors like that - so this is what I did with my small star punch...what do you think??

Hope you have a great weekend! I know I have a busy one ahead, have to finish up my taxes, prepare for stamp club next weekend, work on my nephew's baby shower stuff still and stamp for fun, of course! Phew...I'm tired thinking about all this fun! Oh and it's Cupcake Friday on Taylor's blog so I need to do my challenge (one part of my challenge I accomplished this morning-I made REAL cupcakes! Banana ones, yumm-o!) Oh and Beate's WSC38 - I already did a card this morning - will upload soon.

Somebunny Loves a Big 'Ol Carrot

Better late than never? Here is my card for Beate's Weekend Sketch 37 from last Friday. There are several reasons I didn't upload it sooner. I actually made it last Friday night but was not exactly pleased with it, so I put it out of my mind all weekend and realized I really wanted to show you Bunny's Big 'Ol Carrot still (because I was proud of that part!) Since nearly a week passed since I made this, I can't remember how or why I chose these colors but I knew I wanted something Eastery (is that a word) or is it Easterish but bright at the same time.

I found this carrot at Michael's for a buck & figured I could make it work with Just so Hoppy I just love how the carrot nestles in his right arm and how he longingly is looking at it so instead of it saying somebunny loves you, it seems like it's saying, 'Somebunny Loves a Big 'Ol Carrot.

Easter Blessings

Here is a card I made using Baskets of Happiness by Gina K. and using my cut up scraps from the rubber for the background (tip from this post if you missed it). I love the look the corner rounder punch makes on a card, I just forget to do it sometimes.

Happy Hellos Friends

I feel like I've neglected a lot of my stamps lately and feel ashamed this is the first time I colored & used this image. When I first got the Sweetybellas (so many months ago) I stamped some images and never made a card with them until now *gasp* They are fun to color! I thought the fun-loving nature of the friends taking an ice cream break from shopping went really well with my glitter stack Nana's kids and of course my Lots of Thoughts SAB set with the great sentiments colored to match.

Easter Ramekins

I went looking at Target for some gum for my sister's baby shower favors at lunch. They didn't have them so I got these instead (just kidding). You know us stampers can't pass up the Target $1 spot! Well, these (set of 4) were $2.50 but so cute so I had to get them for some little gifts. They had a pink one too but I left that one at my desk for some candy.

What's so neat about them (if you're not going to use with the rub-ons) is that they are microwave, dishwasher & oven safe. So think about using them for some Creme Brulee - one of my favorite desserts or some little egg-shaped cakes. Cute for the Easter dinner table - or put dinner mints in them.

Kanga's Fun

Well, Kanga was starting to feel left out since she hadn't come out to play in over a week! Bunny, Chicky & Froggy were having all the fun since their birthday party last weekend. So she decided to take a jaunt in the field as the sun was starting to set. What beauty to behold.

Kanga was a little lonely just walking by herself so she decided to find some of her birdy friends and grab a wagon full of flowers to take to her friends. Of course she had to put a flower on her head & put a little in her pouch because the wagon did not hold enough. She was now on her way to spend time with her buddies she hadn't seen in a while - Bunny, Chicky & Froggy because, after all, their friendship is the sweetest flower.

Gettin' Crafty with it

Found this trio of craft dough at the Target $1 spot. I thought this would be cute to alter & give as an Easter gift to my niece (she will be 2 April 26).

I stamped the Just so Hoppy sayings & taped around the containers and attached the hoppy animals appropriately. Bunny has 'Somebunny Loves You' Froggy has 'Hoppy Easter' and Chicky has 'You're One of my Favorite Peeps' - cute, huh? The tops have the easter egg (balloon without the tail) and love you from Just so Hippy. See how great the sets coordinate?? Melanie's a genius.

Here is the complete gift for my niece (all from the $1 spot) The craft dough fits perfectly at the bottom of the purse (she LOVES purses) She will get her mommy's purses & line them all up on her arm & walk through the house saying. 'bye bye' - I look forward to seeing her when she becomes a big sister in May!

Sweet Stitched Birthday

This is my first time sewing on a card, not sure what took me so long, but here it is! Well, I know...I just never think of doing it and last year in the clearance section in Hobby Lobby (love that place) found a cute sew craft machine for $3.59! Of course it's no Janome because I can only do a straight stitch but who knows? Maybe one day I will spring for one! I was inspired to sew because of Gina K's great tutorial the other day.


I love these colors! I got them from my favorite website SU Color Combos - I would have NEVER thought of putting them together but they really work! Of course I think one reason is because they are fun, sweet & cheerful just like the set I used by Gina K - How Sweet It Is (Stamps for a Cause, Adult & Juvenile Diabetes).


I used my Large Polka Dot Backgrounder by Cornish Heritage Farms and Canvas by SU! on the cardbase. Colored w/ my prismas & osm. The 'celebrate' sentiment is Love & Happiness rub-on by SU! Only 15 more days of SAB to take advantage of something free with a $50 purchase!!


Colors are: Purely Pomegranate, Ballet Blue, Chocolate Chip, Lavender Lace and Gable Green.

Chicky's Water Adventures

I was supposed to be working on my sister's baby shower invitations early this morning when I got up, but I had an idea for the chick in Just so Hoppy to have her adventure in the water. But, she really didn't want to get wet (she's high maintenance at times) so she decided to 'hop' on her colorful umbrella and ride the lake waves with the sun shining at her back. Ah...this is the life.

Used my lilypad wheel again but hand drew the water line, shoreline, cattails, grass & sponged the sun on with the circle punch cut out. And used my stencil for the clouds. Sentiment is Things Hanna Would Say. This was stamped on watercolor paper & colored with aquapainter & ink refills.

Gate Fold Chicky

I think this is my first ever gate fold card. I thought this paper from DCWV Nana's kids was perfect for this because of all the different rows of pattern on the same page. I used my chick from Just so Hoppy and the flower in her feathers is from Just so Hippy (I want to say hair but Linsey is right, chicks have feathers...but it sounds funny to say that). I didn't put a sentiment on this card because I wanted the chick to send a little sunshine to my friend (that's more like a sister) who had to put her cat down last week so I just wrote a sweet note on the inside letting her know I was thinking of her. {hugs Yolis}
