Stamp Something challenge - Beauty without Grace

That's easy enough, huh? If you're like me you may want to stamp something every day but sometimes that doesn't happen. Since I work full-time (Mon-Thu 9 hours and 1/2 day Fri) and I am on the computer all day, the last thing I want to do most days is be on the computer all evening although I do it anyway reading other's blogs or the only thing I can think about near 3:00 p.m. is just resting my eyes the minute I walk in the door [that's usually me on Monday evening]. But when the weekend comes - I marathon stamp! This is one of the cards I made this past weekend.

There is a challenge blog Stamp Something that I've been wanting to participate with for a while now and finally made the time! This week their challenge is to use Pink, Blue & Green. I chose to use SU! new In Colors Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze & Kiwi Kiss. You have until this Thursday Aug 14th to upload your creation for it & you could win something from Innovative Stamp Creations!

I used my new Doodlefactory Grace Girls stamp set from Starving Artistamps. Recently my DH gave me a little 'play' $ but his stipulation was to buy a few stamp sets he likes - what?! he doesn't even stamp! well o.k. I like them too so I did it! I like this set because it comes with 4 different girl faces and they are of different ethnicities-so pretty. The quote says, "Beauty without grace is the hook without the bait". I have to admit when I first saw this set I thought it was strange for them to have fish (well, one of them doesn't) adorning their hair but it made sense because of the quote. They really started to grow on me, that is one thing I love about Starving Artistamps - there is a wide variety of stamps to choose from & appeal to many different tastes.

That was so nice of your DH! I like the fish in her hair. . .very different and artsy. And I thought you stamped every day!! You sure fooled me! Great card.

This is sooo pretty and artsy! I love the colors you used! I hear you about stamping everyday, it's a lot harder when you work long days. I remember during school last year, coming home and willing myself to sit at the desk to stamp, but I just sat there in a dazed stupor, droolilng, with nothing coming out! lol! That'll be me in 2 more weeks!

Heheh, I suppose the "Grace Girls" came from an experimental stage in the doodle factory history. I'm not used to drawing people, but I think I will revisit them at some point - give them bodies or turn them into fairies. They're not as popular as the other DF characters but I love seeing them on the rare occassion that someone stamps with them because the cards always turn out so interesting (In my very biased opinion!).

Also, I feel you on the 9hour workdays. You still turn out an amazing amount of work and its a much more economical use of your time getting all the art supplies out and making weekend batches rather than a daily piece!
